From Unseen Wind Damage to Complete Peace of Mind In Stroudsburg, PA

House with roof being replaced on a sunny day; trees surround the home.

After a long, cold, and windy Northeast Pennsylvania winter, a local homeowner reached out to us with a simple request

“Can you just take a look at my roof?”

Her home was built in the early 2000s by a local builder, still had its original builder-grade shingles installed. Like many homeowners, she wasn’t aware of any active problems she simply wanted an honest evaluation to make sure everything was in good shape after the harsh winter season and quickly moving into the summer season.

During our full roof inspection, we discovered multiple areas of wind damage and missing shingles across several roof slopes. These weren’t issues that were visible from the ground, and without a professional assessment, they likely would have gone unnoticed until a leak appeared inside the home.

We carefully documented the damage directly from the rooftop and walked the homeowner through exactly what we found in clear, straightforward language. Together, we reviewed her options, and after considering the scope of damage, filing an insurance claim for proper compensation made the most sense.

From there, we handled the heavy lifting.

We met with the on-site insurance adjuster, provided detailed documentation, and prepared repair proposals that accurately reflected the work needed. After working through the negotiation process with the insurance carrier, an agreement was reached without added stress or confusion to the homeowner.

Once approved, we helped the homeowner select colors and schedule an installation date that worked best for her family. Within just a few short weeks, the home went from a wind-damaged roof to a complete replacement using the strongest CertainTeed architectural shingles.

Today, that roof is protected by manufacturer-backed material warranties and installation warranties, providing long-term confidence and protection. Most importantly, the homeowner didn’t have to manage the process alone.

Why This Matters

Many homeowners don’t realize they have roof damage especially on roofs that are 15 to 20+ years old. Wind damage, missing shingles, and aging materials often go unnoticed until a problem shows up inside the home.

That’s why we strongly encourage proactive roof assessments:

● After winter weather

● Before storm season

● As roofs enter their mid-to-late lifespan

These inspections give homeowners clarity and peace of mind knowing whether their roof is performing as it should or if action is needed.

At Overmyer Roofing, we’ve been serving our local community for over 20 years. We understand how overwhelming roofing concerns can feel, especially when you’re not sure who to trust or where to turn.

Our goal is simple:

To guide homeowners through the process, protect their homes, and make the experience as stress-free as possible.
